Our Story according to Jen
Jon and I were married on August 13, 2011. We've known each other since high school. Jon grew up in Salt Lake City and moved to Idaho Falls our sophomore year of high school. We both went to Skyline and had some interaction with stake youth activities. We didn't truly get to know each other until the Young Single Adult Branch was created about 7 years ago. Since that time we have served on the Branch Council together many times. I moved to Logan for a couple of those years, but family brought me back home. I remember when I was moving back to Idaho Falls I was driving alone and the thought occurred to me that maybe Jon Bell was still in the Branch. My hope was that maybe he'd notice me when I came back to the Branch. It didn't take long from when I moved back that we were on the Branch Council together again. Finally on May 2, 2011 Jon texted me and asked me if I wanted to go to dinner with him. I was pretty excited but didn't get my hopes up. We went to AppleBees on our first date and then went back to his house to watch "Unstoppable." The next day I had invited him to a mutual friend's birthday party. He was sick and didn't come. I was pretty disappointed, so I texted him and asked him if he would like us to bring him some Strawberry Shortcake. My phone auto corrected strawberry to read dysentery. So the text he received asked him if he wanted some "Dysentery Shortcake." I quickly realized what had happened and was embarrassed, but this broke the ice and I was able to go see him that night with a bowl of "Dysentery Shortcake." The rest is history. We spent almost every evening together from then on. Jon would bring me lunch at school and even went on a field trip with me. We were engaged by the end of May on Labor Day Weekend. I often tease Jon that we could have started our lives together a lot sooner if he would have got on the ball and asked me out sooner, because I've liked him for a long time.
